Sport
The Drakensberg Boys Choir School offers an exciting environment where boys can participate in adventure sports and outdoor activities such as mountain biking, cross country, open water swimming, horseback riding, hiking and tubing on the river. We boast an outdoor gym and three trampolines on our campus.
Boys are encouraged to take an active interest in their natural surroundings through educational outdoor excursions like our annual ‘Outward Bound Hike’ where the boys leave the comfort of the school for three days to experience a unique outdoor experience by sleeping in caves and climbing up to the top of Champagne Caste.
As official sports, the school offers swimming, tennis, cricket, soccer, rugby, cross-country, mountain biking and volleyball with the emphasis on group and inter-house participation.
Boys are encouraged to participate either individually or in teams, in external events such as the Midmar Mile, Sterkfontein and Wagendrift open water swims, biathlons and triathlons. A healthy body houses a healthy mind. The Sports Department endeavours to give learners a balanced life programme through healthy exercise and interaction with other learners and teams, thus promoting team work and team spirit.
